Protect SNAP Benefits for Veterans

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the most effective anti-hunger program in US history. SNAP has helped keep many of our veterans from going hungry when they return home from war. In my home state of Minnesota alone, about 16,000 of
our 320,000 veterans receive SNAP benefits. Across the country, close to 1.5 million veterans and 23,000 active-duty service members use SNAP to help put food on the table. In 2017 alone, about $55 million in SNAP purchases were completed at military commissaries.
