Co-Sponsor H.R. 434 ”Emancipation National Historic Trail”

I thank the 45 members of the house who have co-sponsored H.R. 434. I invite you to join us as a co-sponsor
of the “Emancipation National Historic Trail Act,” which will lead to the creation of the Emancipation National Historic Trail, extending approximately 51 miles from the Osterman Building and Reedy Chapel in Galveston, Texas, along Texas State Highway 3 and
Interstate 45 North to Freedmen’s Town and Emancipation Park in Houston, Texas. This trail follows the migration route taken by newly freed slaves from the major 19th century seaport town of Galveston to the burgeoning community of Freedmen’s Town, which is
now the 4th Ward of Houston, home to the 18th Congressional District.

“Vaccination and Promotion Act of 2019”

I invite you to become an original sponsor of the “Vaccination and Promotion Act of 2019” which directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services
to carry out a program to address the public health crisis created by increasing numbers of persons refusing to vaccinate their children. Vaccines are one of the most important measures of preventative

malaria and polio. Recently, there has been a rise in anti-vaccination sentiments surrounding beliefs that vaccines cause more harm than benefits to the health of the children who receive them.

I invite you to join me as a co-sponsor of H.R. 2353, the
“Duty To Refuse and Report Foreign Interference in American Elections Act of 2019,” which I introduced to impose an affirmative duty to refuse any offer of election campaign assistance from

to refuse and report shall apply to candidates and any person working for, or volunteering with, a candidate for election to federal office. The legislation also requires the Federal Election Commission to require that a candidate for election to federal office
must certify quarterly that he or she is compliance with the above requirements. Violation of the Act carries a penalty of not more than 5 years in prison and a fine of not more than $250,000.
