Join Bipartisan Letter to DOL and USDA Opposing Plan for Job Corps Civilian Conservation Centers

the news that the Trump administration plans to permanently close over a third of Civilian Conservation Center (CCC) program facilities and end the program in its current form, Reps. DeFazio, Newhouse, and Schrader along with Sen. Merkley are leading a
bicameral letter to Secretaries Perdue and Acosta expressing strong opposition and requesting additional information about the plan.

In 2006, Congress passed legislation requiring the United States Postal Service (USPS) to prefund decades’ worth of health benefits for its future retirees. Reps. DeFazio (D-OR), Reed (R-NY), Fitzpatrick (R-PA), and Torres Small (D-NM) introduced H.R. 2382,
the USPS Fairness Act, to finally repeal this unfair government mandate.
