The Hill Op-Ed: Time is money: Let’s open Social Security field offices, not close them

I write to share with you the
Op-Ed below that recently appeared in the Hill expressing support for passing legislation to protect the American public’s access to Social Security Administration (SSA) field offices.  The article raises a number of points about the importance
of these field offices to our constituents.  I urge you to cosponsor my bill, H.R. 7146–the Maintain Vital Access to Social Security Services Act of 2018, that would require the SSA to take certain steps, including seeking and considering public input, prior

Support Legislation Endorsed by the National Committee to Preserve Social Social and Medicare to Help Improve the Social Security Field Office Closure Process

I write to seek your support for legislation, H.R. 7146–the Maintain Vital Access to Social Security Services Act of 2018– that would require the Social Security Administration (SSA) to take certain steps, including
seeking and considering public input, prior to closing a field office. The need for putting in place these commonsense protections is highlighted in the letter of endorsement for the legislation from the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare.
