I urge you to cosponsor bipartisan legislation to help families affected by the sudden and unexpected death of their infant or child.  These deaths continue to occur too often in our country and I urge you to join me in cosponsoring bipartisan legislation
(H.R. 2271—the Scarlett’s Sunshine on Sudden Unexpected Death Act) that would help address “one of the greatest threats to babies’ lives once they come home from the hospital.”[I]
The Senate HELP Committee passed the Senate version of this noncontroversial bill by voice vote late last year.

Commemorate the 75th anniversary of the deployment of the only African American Women’s Army Corps unit sent overseas during WWII, cosponsor H.R. 3138

I write to urge you to cosponsor H.R. 3138, bipartisan and bicameral legislation which would award a Congressional Gold Medal attention to recognize the heroic women of the 6888th Central Postal Battalion.

The 6888th was the first and only all Black Female Women Army Corps (WAC) unit to be deployed overseas
during WWII. The unit was active from 1945 to 1946.  The 855 African American women who served in this unit came from all over the

United States, some traveling from the segregated south to the northern states in order to enlist.
