regarding the heroic women of the 6888th Central Postal Battalion and to ask you to join over 70 of your colleagues and cosponsor H.R. 3138, bipartisan legislation which would provide this unit with a Congressional Gold Medal.  The 855 women who served in
this unit came from all over the
United States, some heading to the northern states in order to enlist.

Urge HUD to Continue Funding a Critical Fair Housing Program

Please join me in sending a letter urging the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to ensure that FY 2019 funding provided by Congress  continues to be used to support training to help identify housing discrimination through the Test Coordinator
Training and Technical Assistance  program.   Unfortunately, there is concern that HUD may eliminate this crucial program that helps to provide real world testing to ensure landlords are complying with the Fair Housing Act.

Cosponsor the Scarlett Sunshine on Unexpected Death Act (H.R. 2271)

Many of you will be hearing this week from advocates and families affected by the sudden and unexpected death of their infant or child.  These deaths continue to occur too often in our country and I urge you to join me in cosponsoring bipartisan legislation
(H.R. 2271—the Scarlett’s Sunshine on Sudden Unexpected Death Act) that would help address “one of the greatest threats to babies’ lives once they come home from the hospital.”[I]
The Senate HELP Committee recently passed the Senate version of this noncontroversial bill by voice vote.
