Please join us in requesting that Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Accounts include report language urging the Department of State to include $12 million through the Economic Support Fund for the Ethiopian National Project (ENP) and its mission of advancing the integration of Ethiopian-Israelis into Israeli society. This project, which has already seen significant results in Ethiopian communities across Israel, has great potential for serving as a model in the United States for successful interventions in disadvantaged communities.

Cosponsor H.R.4355, the Corey Jones Act of 2016

During the early hours of October 18, 2015, Corey Jones of Lake Worth, Florida was shot and killed by a plainclothes police officer operating an unmarked vehicle. Mr. Jones was legally and peacefully pulled to the side of the road awaiting roadside assistance when he was approached by the officer. Mr. Jones had no reason to believe that the person in plainclothes was a law enforcement officer. This uncertainty and confusion ultimately led to a tragedy that could have been easily avoided.
