Urge Pres. Trump to Let Cuba Rebuild from Irma

We write to request your support for a letter to call on President Trump to remove restrictions on the ability of United States companies to export relief and reconstruction supplies to Cuba, even if only for a temporary time during the rebuilding period.
This is an action he can take unilaterally without needing approval from Congress. Currently, the Cubans are not allowed to purchase supplies from the U.S. to rebuild schools, hospitals, or other important infrastructure. This regulatory change would not
cost Americans a dime, and to the contrary, would result in significant sales from U.S. companies to Cuba.

Support a Bill to Eliminate Unequal Pay for Women in Gender-Based Jobs

Please join me in cosponsoring H.R. 2095, the Fair Pay Act of 2017.  The 1963 Equal Pay Act (EPA), the first of the great civil rights statutes of the 1960s, was successful for close to 20 years, but it is too creaky with age to be useful today.  It is long
time to amend the EPA to reflect the new work force, which women work as much as men.

Support the Call for an End to the Global Dog and Cat Meat Trade

We write to ask for your support of H.Res.401, a bipartisan resolution that calls for an end to the global dog and cat meat trade. An estimated 30 million dogs and a great number of cats are killed annually around the world for the dog and cat meat trade.
A considerable number of these dogs and cats are stolen pets, still wearing collars when they reach the slaughterhouses. Many of these animals die during transport to the slaughterhouses after days or weeks without food or water, and others suffer illness
and injury during transport. Additionally, the capture, transport, and butchering of dogs and cats and the consumption of their meat poses health risks such as rabies infection to traders, slaughterhouse workers, and consumers.

Help Eliminate the Wage Gap by Cosponsoring the Pay Equity for All Act: Wages Should be Based on Merit, Not Salary History

Please join us in cosponsoring H.R. 2418, the Pay Equity for All Act, which aims to help reduce the gender and racial wage gap by prohibiting employers from seeking the salary history of job applicants as a condition of employment or continued employment.
Massachusetts recently became the first state to ban salary history questions, and other states such as California and Colorado are considering similar legislation—and in May 2017, New York City banned employers from asking salary history questions during
the application process.

While the soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines that return home are often recognized and thanked for their service, we must not forget the members of our Armed Forces who never return home.
