I am writing to ask you to join me in co-sponsoring the Educators Expense Deduction Modernization Act.  This legislation will double the amount educators are able to deduct on qualified out-of-pocket classroom expenses – such as basic school
supplies, books, and other instructional materials – from $250 to $500. The deductions would also be indexed to inflation.

serious financial crisis. To help pay the bills in the interim, some
federal workers have been considering
withdrawing money from their Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). The TSP is a version of a 401(k) retirement savings plan for federal employees. The program includes both Roth and traditional account options.
