Co-sponsor H.R. 1401, the Jobs Originating Through Launching Travel (JOLT) Act

In light of the recent attacks in Paris and concerns with the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), Congress passed the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015. This bill contained a number of the same security provisions originally included in our bipartisan bill, H.R. 1401, the Jobs Originating Through Launching Travel (JOLT) Act of 2015. These provisions include the requirement of travelers to have electronic, machine-readable passports; an assessment on how to strengthen the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA); and to grant U.S. officials greater authority to terminate non-compliant countries.
