Letter to Secretary Tillerson Opposing the Closing of State Department Cyber Office (v. 2)

Recent news reports in both Politico and

Bloomberg indicate that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will be shutting down the Office of the Coordinator for Cyber Issues and will fold it into the State Department’s Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs.  As a result, the United States will be the

bipartisan Protecting Our Democracy Act, which I introduced with Rep. Elijah Cummings, which would create a bipartisan, independent commission to investigate foreign interference, specifically by Russia, in the 2016 U.S. elections.
