Cosponsor the Gun Violence Research Act (v. 6)

I respectfully invite you to cosponsor H.R. 1478, the Gun Violence Research Act.  The bill would repeal a longstanding provision in federal appropriations law to ensure that the CDC and other HHS agencies can sponsor evidence-based research into
the causes of gun incidents and ways to reduce gun deaths and injuries.  This research would inform policymakers as they consider whether to enact legislation that both lowers gun violence and protects the constitutional rights of law-abiding gun owners.
A Newsweek article on the bill is

law to sell fetal tissue to research institutions.  This morally bankrupt practice further victimizes the defenseless and increases profits for Planned Parenthood.

Become an Original Co-sponsor of the Raise the Wage Act of 2017 (v. 4)

Please join us as an original co-sponsor of the Raise the Wage Act—a bill that will help working families by raising the federal minimum wage. For millions of people across the country, working 40 hours or more a week is not enough to pay the bills, support
their families, and achieve economic mobility. People who work hard and play by the rules should not have to live in poverty, but sadly, that is the reality for many people working in jobs paying the federal minimum wage.
