Help Recognize Voting Rights For All, Regardless of Race

February 3rd marks the 146th anniversary of the ratification of the 15th amendment. Referred to as one of the Reconstruction Amendments, the 15th amendment was adopted in 1870 and prohibits the government from denying a citizen the right to vote based on “race, color, or previous servitude.” It finally granted African American men the right to vote post-Civil War and overturned the previous statute that denied them suffrage.

pretty entertaining dustup between Donald Trump and a Florida-based Leadership PAC affiliated with Jeb Bush. The legal counsel for the Trump Organization threatened legal action against the PAC if Mr. Trump continues to be “personally and directly attacked”
during the Presidential campaign. In response, a counsel for the Bush-affiliated Leadership PAC claimed that, in sending the letter, the Trump Organization’s counsel had violated the Federal Election Commission’s (FEC’s) prohibition on the use of corporate
resources for electioneering.
