Support Veterans Interested in Agriculture

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, nearly 45 percent of veterans come from rural America.  Over the next 20 years, it is projected that our nation will need 700,000 new agricultural workers.  While there are several programs across multiple
federal agencies that focus on veterans’ job placement, none of them are operated by the USDA.  The
Veterans’ Agricultural Apprenticeship Act of 2017 will help prioritize veterans at the USDA and give our returning heroes a new path to transition home after their service.

models for younger generations. Despite their critical role, they face considerable societal limitations and constraints in their access to resources. Food security and economic stability around the world are central to the interests of the United States.
