I’m writing to invite you to become a cosponsor of legislation that would urge the President to designate October 28th as a holiday honoring our nation’s first responders.  First responders include all professional fire, police, EMT; as well as emergency
volunteers. There are over 25,300,000 professional and volunteer service men and women in the United States today, working to keep our communities safe. These brave citizens put their lives on the line day in and day out, and they undoubtedly deserve a national
day of recognition.
