Sending Office: Honorable Marcy Kaptur
I would like to invite you to join me and Congressman Jeff Fortenberry by cosponsoring a resolution supporting the patriotic reinstitution of Victory Gardens during the Coronavirus pandemic.
As America endured the devastation of World War I and II, citizens across the country came together to ensure food security and the American way by planting Victory Gardens. At home, in community areas, on rooftops, empty lots, and backyards, nearly 20
million citizens planted fruits and vegetables to reduce pressure on public food supplies. As our country and its citizens bravely fight the invisible enemy of COVID-19, we encourage those who are able to invest in planting Victory Gardens. They have the
ability to bring us together as we are separated by social distancing and enrich our food security. Taking initiative to harvest our own nutritious fruits and vegetables will reconnect us with the fabric of our country and teach our children the value of
our lands. Victory Gardens are a holistic approach to boosting morale and ensuring our nation’s vitality as we fight to see brighter days ahead.
Investing in Victory Gardens is a patriotic call to duty during this COVID-19 health crisis. Please join the call, and join this resolution supporting a broad campaign for Victory Gardens.
