Sending Office: Honorable Joe Neguse
Each and every day throughout the Novel Coronavirus pandemic, our frontline healthcare professionals are risking exposure to this deadly disease to ensure sick individuals receive the care they so desperately need and to help prevent the further spread of
COVID-19 throughout our communities. Facing shortages of personal protective equipment and surging hospital admittances, our healthcare professionals deserve pay that reflects the risks associated with their work throughout this crisis.
In response to this need, Congresswoman Kendra Horn and I introduced the Hazard Pay for the Frontlines During Health Emergencies Act (H.R. 6484) which guarantees an additional 25% of an employee’s salary as hazard pay for healthcare workers during
public health emergencies. The bill also provides 100% federal reimbursement for this pay.
