The number of confirmed cases of detainees, staff, and detention facilities with positive CIVID-19 cases continues to climb. We would like more information on ICE’s COVID-19 policies and procedures to stem the spread of the virus.

In summary, we are asking questions about:

1. Detainees being asked to waiver to receive protective masks distributed by CoreCivic staff written in the English language and illegible to most detainees. How widespread is or was this policy?

2. The national implementation of cohorting, the inclusion of medically at-risk detainees in its cohorting practice, and if ICE plans on releasing non-felony and nonviolent at-risk detainees.

3. Requesting that ICE include data of third-party contractors who test positive for COVID-19, in their nationwide statistics of COVID-19 cases at detention facilities.
