Support National Scenic and Historic Trails Funding in FY2021

Supportive Organizations: Pacific Crest Trail Association, Pacific Northwest Trail Association

Please complete this form to sign on.

The deadline is COB Tuesday, March 10

Dear Colleague:

Please join us in support of dedicated and robust funding for the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service to administer and manage the 30 National Scenic and Historic Trails under the Fiscal Year
(FY) 2021 Interior, Environment and Related Agencies appropriations bill.

Because these trails, by law, are collaboratively managed with nongovernmental partners, it is necessary that Congress directs the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management to include specific line-item allocations for each of the 30 National Scenic
and Historic Trails they manage. We are concerned that the lack of a unified, robust budget account for these premier trails place a greater burden on nonprofit partners to maintain and protect these public lands which provide many benefits to the American
people.

Unpredictability in appropriations for National Scenic and Historic Trails will make it difficult for nonprofit trail organization partners to operate efficiently, raise local funds to leverage the federal investment and recruit volunteers to carry out essential
services.

We encourage you to join us to recognize the many benefits of the National Scenic and Historic Trails and support dedicated and robust funding for them in FY2021.

Please complete this form to sign on. The deadline is COB Tuesday, March 10.

If you have any questions, please contact Alexandra Menardy in Rep. Rick Larsen’s office (Alexandra.Menardy@mail.house.gov) or Jocelyn Broman in Rep. Paul Cook’s office (Jocelyn.Broman@mail.house.gov).

Sincerely,

Rick Larsen                                                     Paul Cook
