The annual World Justice Project Rule of Law Index uses primary data to measure how the rule of law is experienced and perceived worldwide. Countries’ rule of law performance is examined across eight factors: Constraints on Government Powers, Absence of
Corruption, Open Government, Fundamental Rights, Order and Security, Regulatory Enforcement, Civil Justice, and Criminal Justice. The Index covers 128 countries and jurisdictions and is based on more than 130,000 household surveys and 4,000 legal practitioner
and expert surveys worldwide.
