Dear Colleague,

We invite you to join the newly-formed, bipartisan Construction Procurement Caucus (CPC). The CPC serves as a forum for Members to discuss ways to improve efficiency in the federal government procurement process with the goal of promoting commonsense design
and construction services and procurement reforms to benefit the government, taxpayers, and businesses of all sizes.

The federal government is the largest customer in the world and relies heavily on private business of all sizes when procuring goods and services. Doing so ensures a competitive marketplace, supports small businesses as engines of economic growth, and enhances
the use of innovative ideas, products, and services. However, navigating the process to begin identifying, bidding, and winning federal opportunities is complex. From knowing where to look for assistance to ensuring the proper bonding and compliance with the
primary regulations governing federal acquisitions, our federal contractors need members of Congress to promote sensible reforms.

If this is an area of interest for your business constituents, it is important to understand how the government contract process works and what you can do to educate and assist your district’s small contractors.

In that vein, the goals and objectives of the Caucus are to: 1) simplify the federal construction services procurement process; 2) promote a competitive marketplace for federal construction services contract awards for all size businesses; 3) support greater
opportunities for all size businesses in the federal marketplace; and 4) elevate procurement-related legislative opportunities.

If you are interested in joining or have any questions about the Construction Procurement Caucus, please have your staff contact Hannah Stern (Rep. Peters) at
Hannah.stern@mail.house.gov or (202) 225-0508 and/or Allie Esau (Rep. Stauber) at
Allie.Esau@mail.house.gov or (202) 225-6211.

Sincerely,

Scott Peters                                         Pete Stauber
