Please join me in supporting H.Res.822 to honor Tom Flores, who through his distinguished career in professional football has made invaluable contributions to his community, State, and the National Football League (NFL). As the first Hispanic starting quarterback
in professional football history, the first Hispanic coach to win a Super Bowl, and the first Hispanic general manager in the NFL, Tom Flores has paved the way for Latinos to continue to have a meaningful impact on the sport.
Flores retired with a life-time coaching record of 97-87, as well as an 8-3 playoff record, and led two separate teams to Super Bowl victories. He is one of only two people in NFL history to win multiple Super Bowls as a player, an assistant coach, and a
head coach. Furthermore, through the Tom Flores Youth Foundation, he has used his influence to support youth from California’s Central Valley gain additional educational opportunities in science, art, and athletics. He’s never forgotten where he came from:
his home of the San Joaquin Valley.
For these reasons, I ask you join me on this resolution requesting Tom Flores be inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. For more information or to cosponsor this resolution, please contact Jacob Schueler at
Jacob.email@example.com or at x53341.
