Dear Colleague,

As Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Legislative Branch Subcommittee, we ask you to urge your staff to complete the Congressional Climate Survey.  The Congressional Accountability Reform Act directed the Office of Congressional Workplace
Rights (OCWR) to periodically conduct the survey to assist in identifying practices to create a safer, more productive work culture. The survey, the first of its kind, has been sent to staff repeatedly since January.  But in our hearing yesterday with OCWR,
we learned that the current response rate is only ten percent, which could jeopardize the validity of the survey.
The survey closes on February 21st. We know that OCWR has made efforts to reach staff through periodic e-mails, chiefs of staff meetings, widely distributed posters, etc.  The Committee on House Administration has also sent multiple
messages to Member offices.

It is in the interest of every member of the Hill community to have valid climate survey results so that we can continue our efforts to have a safe and productive workplace. Please talk to your staff and tell them how important their participation will be.

Thank you.
