Sending Office: Honorable Betty McCollum
I invite you to attend a briefing to learn about the unique mission, capabilities, and partnerships of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) on December 11. Please join us to hear vignettes on accurately mapping the Earth’s surface for scientific
research, wildfire relief, and humanitarian assistance.
As a Department of Defense combat support agency and a member of the U.S. Intelligence Community, NGA provides timely, relevant, and accurate geospatial intelligence in support of policymakers, warfighters, and first responders. A key, and perhaps lesser
known, component of NGA’s unique mission is partnering closely with academia and lead federal agencies – such as the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Geological Survey, and the U.S. Forest Service – to protect the homeland and provide critical
data and context for decisions related to climate resilience, as well as humanitarian and disaster relief and recovery efforts.
