The American Immigration Lawyers Association Presents:

A Briefing on USCIS’s Systematic Restriction of Legal Immigration Under the Trump Administration

Friday, December 6, 2019

10:00AM to 11:00AM

Room 310, Cannon House Office Building

Dear Colleague:

Congress established USCIS to oversee legal immigration to the United States. The Trump Administration has instead used USCIS to restrict, obstruct, and prevent legal immigration. As a result, USCIS has built an  “invisible wall” — policies that impede access
to, or even eliminate outright, immigration benefits provided for under the law. These policies have devastating consequences for families, refugees, aspiring citizens, American businesses and universities, and our nation as a whole.

By now, you should have received an invitation from the American Immigration Lawyers Association to attend a briefing on the impact of USCIS’s policy changes. The briefing will draw upon a range of experts to provide a comprehensive analysis of USCIS’s rollback
of legal immigration and consequences for our country.

Moderated By:

Jason Boyd, Policy Counsel, American Immigration Lawyers Association

Amanda Baran, Immigrant Legal Resource Center (formerly Chief of Public Engagement at USCIS and Principal Deputy for Immigration Policy at DHS)

Ur Jaddou, Director, DHS Watch, a project of America’s Voice (formerly Chief Counsel at USCIS)

Diane Rish, Associate Director of Government Relations, American Immigration Lawyers Association

Sonya Schwartz, Senior Policy Attorney, National Immigration Law Center,
Co/Chair, Protecting Immigrant Families Campaign

Bennie G. Thompson
