Dear Colleague:

I invite you to become a co-sponsor of legislation that would award a Congressional Gold Medal to Rabbi Michoel Weissmandl, an unsung hero who proactively fought
against Nazi Germany’s “Final Solution.â€

During the Nazi regime, Weissmandl played an active role in protecting Europe’s Jewish people. He became a leading activist, earning the support and attention from
contacts in foreign countries. Through his work, he was able to obtain visas for persecuted Jews, wrote telegrams supporting intervention, secured rescue and even fooled and bribed Dieter Wsliceny to halt the transportation of Jewish people to concentration

After the war, Rabbi Weissmandl moved to the United States and immediately got to work to establish a home and Yeshiva for Holocaust survivors. This Yeshiva would
become a model for future institutions here in the United States.

The Rabbi was, until the end of his life, strong, determined and possessed unwavering courage. Such qualities are not only remarkable in the midst of adversity, but
worthy of recognition. Please join us in cosponsoring this bill to honor Rabbi Weissmandl’s legacy and to recognize his spirit and unwavering commitment to human rights during one of the darkest periods of our world’s history.

If you would like to co-sponsor please add your name via this Google

If you have any questions please contact Justin Pelletier at or Tali Weg at
