Dear Colleague,

Every day, an estimated 22 veterans take their own lives, due to post traumatic stress and other illnesses, reminding us of
the invisible wounds of war for our veterans returning from combat zones in Iraq and Afghanistan.  It is
in their honor that the Shepherd’s Men run each year through Washington, DC.

22 every day.  You can help bring awareness to this tragic situation.

As recently as April 6, this year, on-site at separate VA facilities in my home state of Georgia, two veterans took their own lives.  Others end their pain in a vehicle or at home, leaving behind a trail of anguish and despair for their families
and future generations.

We need to move the needle from 22 to 0.

On May 23, the Shepherd’s Men will be running their 6th annual cross country Advocacy run
at Arlingtonto bring awareness and attention to this epidemic.

You are invited to meet this incredible team of active duty, graduates of SHARE program, Medal of Honor recipients, founders, and others
at a Reception or at the Run site. The info is below. Please join me in bringing awareness
to this epidemic and reaching veterans who may need life-saving services.

The SHARE Military Initiative at Shepherd Center is a VA-sanctioned, no-cost, life-saving treatment program for our suffering veterans.  The Shepherd’s Men are the advocates and ambassadors for SHARE.  Graduates of the SHARE program are
now able to lead productive lives with their families, give back to society and their fellow war heroes.
Will you help?
