Dear Colleague:

By now, you should have received an invitation to attend a Historic Preservation Month lunch briefing at noon on Monday, May 20 in Longworth 1539.

Attendees will receive an introduction to federal historic preservation programs, discuss the recent changes to the historic tax credit, and be provided an opportunity to schedule a visit to a historic site in your district. Panelists include:

  • Merrill Hoopengardner, Historic Tax Credit Coalition
  • Erik Hein, National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers

Special programs and events celebrating Preservation Month are happening across the country throughout the month of May. You can learn about one happening in your district by contacting and your state, tribal, and local historic preservation organizations
or your State or Tribal Historic Preservation Office. These events will tell the success story of historic preservation and the positive impact of the Historic Preservation Fund and the Federal Historic Tax Credit.
