Please join me in supporting H.Res.349 to reaffirm the vital role of the United States-Japan alliance in promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
An enduring partnership for more than 70 years, the U.S.-Japan relationship has underpinned security and growth in both countries and more broadly. Faithful to common principles, the United States and Japan remain deeply committed to the values of freedom,
democracy, rule of law, and market economics. Still today, as Emperor Naruhito ascends to the Chrysanthemum throne, marking the beginning of a new era, “Reiwa,” the U.S.-Japan alliance forms the cornerstone of regional leadership.
To reinforce this unwavering and invaluable friendship, the resolution emphasizes the significance of the alliance for peace and prosperity, highlights intimate personal and cultural bonds, encourages enhanced collaboration, and promotes further cooperation
to address global challenges.
