Support Bus and Bus Facilities Funding in FY2020
Supported By: The Bus Coalition
Please join us in support of at least $702 million in additional investment for the Federal Transit Administration’s Bus and Bus Facilities Infrastructure Investment program within the FY 2020 Transportation and Housing and Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations
Robust federal investment is key to ensuring safe, efficient and affordable public transit systems, especially buses, for hardworking Americans. However, bus funding under MAP-21 was cut by fifty-seven percent from $984 million to $422 million.
Bus service is a lifeline for people to get to work, school, doctor visits, grocery shopping and to enjoy recreational opportunities. With more than fifty-one percent of all transit trips occurring on buses, the benefits of federal bus investment will spur
economic growth in local communities across the country.
We encourage you to join us in support at least $702 million increase for the Bus and Bus Facilities Infrastructure Investment program, which would align with funding allocation before MAP-21- adjusted for inflation- to help bring transit systems up to a
state of good repair.
