Dear Colleague,

As co-chairs of the bipartisan Recording Arts and Sciences Congressional Caucus, we believe music cultivates civic dialogue, addresses important social challenges, and has the power to unite our citizens. The unanimous passage of the Music Modernization
Act during the 115thCongress reinforced that we want to see America’s music creators remain an integral part of our culture and our economy. Musicians, songwriters, and studio professionals enrich the very fabric of our nation; they are the reason
we lead this Caucus and why we encourage you to join as a member.

On Sunday, February 10, the world’s attention will turn to the vibrant music marketplace in the United States as the GRAMMY Awards are broadcast across the globe. As the Caucus recognizes this year’s nominees for their immense talent, we also support the
thousands and thousands of music creators who live, work, and create in towns and communities across all fifty states. It is these hard-working and talented artists, songwriters, and studio professionals who truly have the power to impact our society and strengthen
our economy through their craft.

Established in 2005, the Caucus works directly with American music creators to better our understanding of the music business and the impact music has on our economy and society. The Caucus serves as a forum for Members of Congress to focus on both the positive
influence of music in the daily lives of Americans and music’s place in public policy. Since the Caucus’s inception, Members of Congress have had the unique opportunity to hear and learn from a diverse set of recording artists, music producers, and songwriters—Brenda
Lee, Slash, Kelly Clarkson, Kenny Loggins, and The Band Perry, among others, have all met with the Caucus over the years.

We hope that you will consider joining us in our effort to learn about, discuss, and promote the music that is central to our nation’s cultural and economic livelihood.

If you would like to join, please contact Stephen Dwyer with Majority Leader Hoyer’s office or James Min with Republican Leader McCarthy’s office.
