Sending Office: Honorable Eric A. “Rick” Crawford
We invite you to join the Congressional Rice Caucus in the 116th Congress. The Rice Caucus is focused on providing a platform to discuss the role of government in addressing current and future challenges to the rice industry, including trade and
The USA Rice Federation estimates that the industry supports more than 128,000 jobs and is responsible for more than $34 billion of economic output nationally. As the world’s most widely-consumed commodity, American rice plays an important role in meeting
global demand and can lead the way in production as global population is expected to exceed 9 billion by 2050.
We believe that having a group of Members of Congress who understand the rice industry’s needs, as well as the long-term viability of maintaining American rice production, will be of the utmost importance during this Congress. This is especially true considering
the numerous trade issues and barriers our industry continues to face. As the 2018 Farm Bill is implemented, it is important to work together to continue advancing the needs of the rice industry. The Congressional Rice Caucus will serve as a voice for our
farmers, millers, merchants, and allied businesses that must navigate regulatory hurdles to continue to be successful and stay in business.
