Sending Office: Honorable Brian K. Fitzpatrick
Dear Republican Colleagues,
I want to make sure you know about the Congressional Bipartisan Heroin and Opioid Task Force. Task Force members represent Americans from all walks of life and have political views that run the full political spectrum. Still, members are
able come together as one to address the opioid epidemic that is currently impacting every congressional district in our nation. This crisis is not a partisan issue.
I would like to extend an invitation for you to join us in our continuing efforts to combat the opioid and heroin epidemic.
Last Congress our Task Force helped pass legislation that addressed everything from prevention and treatment to protecting families and providing law enforcement the tools they need to combat the crisis. Many of the Task Force’s priorities
passed in H.R. 6, the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act. Other priorities, like the INTERDICT Act and the VA Prescription Data Accountability Act, were signed into law on their own. Despite the Task Force’s successes last Congress our work is not over
Overdose data demonstrate that this public health emergency has gotten worse. Families and communities across the country continue to suffer from the deleterious impact of opioid addiction. If your district is impacted by the epidemic, we ask you consider
joining our Task Force. We need your help. Only with the concerted and bipartisan effort of Congress will we be able to resolve this crisis.
Please contact Michael McCabe in my office at
Michael.McCabe@mail.house.gov or x54276 if you would like to join or need further information.
We hope you will join us in this fight.
