Dear Colleague:

As co-chairs of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Caucus, we invite you to join us in cosponsoring a bipartisan resolution supporting the goals and ideals of
National Career and Technical Education Month, which is celebrated every February.

CTE prepares students of all ages for high-skill, high-wage careers in fields such as healthcare, information technology, and the skilled trades, all of which have hundreds of thousands of job openings across the country. Currently, there are more than 7
million job openings nationally. By 2026, health care occupations are projected to grow by 18 percent, adding more than 2 million jobs nationwide, and in the next decade, 3 million workers will be needed for the nation’s infrastructure. We must ensure that
Americans are attaining the skills necessary to compete for these high-demand positions.

By combining theoretical and practical instruction, CTE equips students with the skills needed to fill these jobs – closing the “skills gap” and ensuring the U.S. economy is competitive in the 21st Century. Please join us in recognizing the importance
of CTE in building a well-educated and skilled national workforce. For more information or to become a cosponsor, please contact Kerry McKittrick with Rep. Langevin at
kerry.mckittrick@mail.house.gov or Nick Rockwell with Rep. Thompson at
nick.rockwell@mail.house.gov by COB on Friday, February 8

Sincerely,

JIM LANGEVIN                                                                   GLENN ‘GT’ THOMPSON
