Sending Office: Honorable Al Green
Become a Cosponsor of the resolution honoring the American Jewish Committee
Deadline: COB Friday, November 30th
I am writing to invite you to cosponsor a resolution to honor the American Jewish Committee (AJC) on the occasion of its 112th anniversary.
The AJC has a long and proud history of raising awareness and fighting against the injustices that the American Jewish community faces. The organization works in conjunction with other minority groups to promote equality and to strengthen bonds of interfaith
communities. Bipartisanship, transnational solutions, and promotion of Israel’s security are at the forefront of the AJC’s work.
In September 2018, the AJC created a pledge of harmony and resolve, which reaffirmed the transatlantic partnership of nations, signed by former Vice President Joe Biden and former Speaker of the House John Boehner. The AJC has also worked closely with the
United Nations General Assembly and heads of state to advocate for those most vulnerable around the world.
Due to the current violence manifested against our American Jewish community, it is paramount that we stand in unity with our Jewish brothers and sisters. The Squirrel Hill Massacre was an unacceptable expression of hatred that we must work to prevent. Honoring
and supporting the American Jewish Committee expresses a commitment to end such hatred.
Please join in recognizing and honoring all the work that the American Jewish Committee has done to build bridges, promote human rights, and encourage equality.
To become a co-sponsor, please contact Bobby Bivens in Congressman Al Green’s office at 5-7508 or
