Sending Office: Honorable Jackie Speier
I urge you to join me in writing to the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security
Kirstjen Nielsen to clarify her recent letter to members of Congress on election security. She writes that DHS has taken many steps to secure the 2018 elections from cyber threats. However, I remain concerned that there are still steps the
Department must take, and that our progress on election security must not remain static.
This letter requests details on DHS’s progress on providing security clearances to state election officials, the Department’s deployment of cyber screening measures, and efforts to better train and equip state and local election security and technical staff.
If you have any questions regarding the letter, or if you would like to sign on, please contact Richard Wozniak at 202-225-3531 or Richard.Wozniak@mail.house.gov. The deadline for signatures is October
