Sending Office: Honorable Suzanne Bonamici
Hear directly from organizations holding DeVos accountable for protecting student loan borrowers in your district
TODAY, October 10th
1 – 2:30 PM
Since her confirmation as Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos has pursued an aggressive anti-regulatory agenda at the expense of some of our most vulnerable students including veterans, students of color, and low-income individuals. She has sought to undo
regulations put in place by the Obama Administration to protect students from bad actors in the career education industry and provide relief to students defrauded by them.
illegally delaying the implementation of the “borrower defense” rule, to issuing a rewrite of that rule that would make it harder for defrauded students seeking relief, to scrapping the Gainful Employment rule altogether, DeVos and this Administration have
demonstrated time and time again they are not on the side of students.
We hope you are able to join us to discuss the history of these regulations under the Obama Administration, the current status of Gainful Employment and “borrower defense” regulations, and the impact of DeVos’ anti-regulatory agenda on your constituents.
