Join me in honoring former Congressman Howard Coble by cosponsoring H.R. 5187, a bill to designate a Greensboro, NC, post office as the “J. Howard Coble Post Office Building.” In 1984, Coble was elected to represent North Carolina’s 6th District in the U.S.
House of Representatives. He would end up serving for 15 terms and 30 years, the longest period ever served by a North Carolina Republican.
North Carolina was blessed to have the leadership of Howard Coble in Congress for thirty years, but we were even more blessed to call him a friend and mentor. During his time in Washington, Congressman Coble demonstrated that tone, approach, and a heart of
service still matter in our political discourse. After being a staple of our community for decades, it is fitting that we have this permanent reminder of his service.
Of note, Congressman Coble’s 87th birthday would have been March 18th, so we hope to honor his birthday with this legislation. If you would like to co-sponsor this bill or require more information, please contact Rusty Mau (Rusty.Mau@mail.house.gov)
with Congressman Mark Walker at 5-3065.
