Celebrate Women’s History Month by Co-Sponsoring
H.R. 5308

Dear Colleague:

We write to ask that you join us in honoring the contributions of women to American history during this year’s Women’s History Month by cosponsoring our bill,
H.R. 5308. This bill directs the U.S. Treasury to issue quarters, one from each of the 50 states and the U.S. territories, to honor women who have made significant contributions
to America.

Since our nation’s founding, women have played an instrumental role in shaping this country – even though their sacrifices and accomplishments have often gone unrecognized by history. Help us correct this historic wrong by supporting our legislation to mint
women onto American currency. We want to give all Americans, but especially the next generation an opportunity to learn more about the unsung pioneers who built the United States.

Our legislation directs the Treasury Secretary to engage in a thoughtful process with the governor, or executive of each state or territory, who would recommend a design to the Treasury in consultation with various stakeholders. If enacted, the quarter program
would coincide with the centennial of the ratification of the 19th Amendment.

To become a cosponsor, please contact Liz Lee in Rep. Lee’s office at:
Liz.Lee@mail.house.gov
or Philip Swartzfager in Rep. Poliquin’s office at:
Philip.Swartzfager@mail.house.gov
.

We look forward to working with you to enact this landmark legislation!

Sincerely,

/s/
Barbara Lee
Member of Congress
