Co-Sponsor Resolution Recognizing January as National Mentoring Month

Co-sponsor H.Res. 683

Dear Colleague:

Please join us in supporting a resolution recognizing January as National Mentoring Month.

There are currently 9 million children in the United States growing up without a mentor of any kind. Mentors provide youth with the support, encouragement and guidance they need to succeed through academic and personal challenges. The National Mentoring
Month Resolution provides an important opportunity to raise awareness about the impact of mentors on the lives of children among Members of Congress and throughout the country.

Established in 2002, National Mentoring Month focuses national attention on the need for mentors, as well as how each of us—individuals, businesses, elected officials, schools, faith communities, and non-profits—can work together to increase the number of
mentors to help ensure positives outcomes for our young people.

We hope that you co-sponsor the resolution and help to recognize the incredible impact that mentors throughout the country make on young people every day, as well as the contributions of mentoring organizations throughout your districts and the country.
Their work is critical and provides our children with the support and guidance they need to succeed.

If you have any questions or would like to co-sponsor the resolution please contact Shane Hand in the office of Rep. Jim Renacci at Shane.Hand@mail.house.gov or Armita Pedramrazi in the office of Rep. Susan
Davis at Armita.Pedramrazi@mail.house.gov.

Sincerely,

Jim Renacci                                                                             Susan Davis
