Sending Office: Honorable Mike Thompson
As Co-Chairs of the Congressional Wildlife Refuge Caucus, we are pleased to invite you and your staff to a “Wildlife Refuge 101” briefing.
Tuesday, February 13th
234 Cannon House Office Building
The event offers a chance for staff to hear from experts on a wide range of Wildlife Refuge issues, including the basics of the National Wildlife Refuge System, the system’s funding, and the role Congress plays in supporting refuges around our country.
Refuges unite an extraordinarily diverse group of communities, from sportsmen and women to anglers to public lands and endangered species advocates, each of whom shares a deep appreciation for the social, economic and environmental benefits provided by the
refuge system. The panelists listed below represent a broad spectrum of these communities, including officials from the National Wildlife Refuge Association, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Ducks Unlimited, and the Audubon Society.
Panelists will discuss their own experiences and the work of their respective organizations, and will be available for a Q & A session at the conclusion of the briefing.
· Caroline Brouwer, Director of Government Affairs – National Wildlife Refuge Association
· Shaun Sanchez, Deputy Chief for the Wildlife Refuge System –
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
· Dan Wrinn, National Director of Government Affairs – Ducks Unlimited
· Brian Moore, Legislative Director – Audubon Society
We hope you will be able to attend this informative and productive discussion. With questions, or to RSVP, please contact Crozer Connor (Rep. Thompson) at
