Dear Colleague,

Please join us as an original cosponsor of a resolution that supports the goals and ideals of Korean American Day, which is observed on January 13.

Korean American Day commemorates the arrival of the first Korean immigrants to the United States on January 13, 1903. In 2005, Congress unanimously passed a resolution for the national observance of Korean American Day, and it has been more than 10 years
since that passage. As a Member of Congress representing the largest Korean population in the country, I am proud to reintroduce a resolution that raises the public’s awareness of the Korean American community’s history and contributions to our nation.

Today, we have nearly two million Korean Americans living in the United States. The Korean American community has made a profound impact upon our nation and enriched all facets of American life from businesses, non-profits, NGOs, government, military, technology,
medicine, athletics, arts and entertainment, journalism, churches, academic communities, and much more. Through this resolution, we can acknowledge and express gratitude for the generations of Korean Americans who have helped to shape and strengthen our country.

We hope that you will co-sponsor this important resolution to help us honor and celebrate the incredible impact of Korean Americans throughout our country. If you have any questions or would like to co-sponsor this legislation, please contact Wooyoung Lim
( in my office.
