UMR cordially invites you to attend a briefing entitled Amazing Things that NIH-funded research makes possible in the
Rayburn House Office Building, Room G – 2007.
The panel discussion will include four NIH-funded researchers whose ground-breaking discoveries and personal stories have been featured on the
Amazing Things Podcast series.
- Dr. Ed Damiano from Boston University who has developed a bionic pancreas for people with type 1 diabetes.
- Dr. Li-Huei Tsai from MIT whose research may lead to a new, light-based treatment for Alzheimer’s disease.
- Dr. Natalia Trayanova from Johns Hopkins University who has developed a computational model – a virtual heart – to prevent sudden cardiac death.
- Dr. Vadim Backman from Northwestern University. Dr. Backman has developed a low-cost minimally invasive universal cancer test.
