Dear Colleague,

We invite you to join and become a member of the Congressional NASA Caucus, which we launched on October 11 and now includes 35 members. This bipartisan forum will help exchange and elevate ideas to secure the United States’ superiority in air and space,
better understand our universe, and inspire young Americans to pursue futures in science, technology, and exploration.

Formed in 1958, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and its predecessor organization, the National Advisory Council for Aeronautics before it, carries on a century-old legacy of American leadership and innovation. Defining achievements of this
legacy represent some of the most pivotal moments in human history. Through NASA’s efforts, the American people have brought mankind to the moon, established the International Space Station, explored the farthest reaches of our solar system, and vastly expanded
the understanding of our own world. Additionally, civilian and commercial aviation technology developed at NASA brings our world closer together and creates jobs in local communities all over our nation.

One of the key measures of a society is the ability to inspire its youth to continue the society’s advancement into the future. No other organization does this for American children as profoundly as NASA. For every rocket we launch, every discovery we make,
and every barrier we breach, generations of school children are provided the spark that ignites a lifetime passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. If we are to ensure the future workforce of America remains competitive in a rapidly developing
world, it is vitally important that we maintain America’s status as the preeminent scientific leader among our peer nations.

As a member of the NASA Caucus, you will play a key role in advocating for the interests and missions of NASA both on Capitol Hill and in the public discourse. It would be an honor to have you as a member of this coalition. If you would like to join or have
any questions, please contact Adam Brooks in the office of Rep. Steve Knight (adam.brooks@mail.house.gov) or T.J. Lowdermilk in the office of Rep. Marcy Kaptur (tj.lowdermilk@mail.house.gov).

Sincerely,

Rep. Steve Knight
