Dear Colleague,

Please join us on Wednesday, October 18in HVC-201 for a discussion focused on the Nineveh Plain region of Iraq, post-ISIS.  The event will begin at 10:00 AM and end at approximately 11:30 AM (refreshments will be served).

We have put together a great panel featuring some very knowledgeable experts on the plight of Christians in the Middle East, the many factions in the Nineveh Plain, and the ambitions of all the regional actors such as Iraq, Iran,
and the Kurds.

Topics include (but are not limited to):

-As the Islamic State is pushed out of Iraq, how is the situation on the ground evolving?
-Are we successfully advancing American interests or are other powers filling the vacuum?
-What can the U.S. do to assist the Christians, Yezidis, Turkmen, and other religious and ethnic minorities in a post-ISIS Nineveh Plain?

Those questions and more will be examined, and you will be able to ask questions of and discuss with experts who have spent a good deal of time on the ground and know what’s currently going on in Iraq.

If you’re unable to attend, please send a colleague to receive the information – invite is not exclusive and is transferable.  Please contact Andrew Braun on my staff at
andrew.braun@mail.house.gov or 202-225-4576 if you have any questions about the event.  Hope to see you there,

Most sincerely,

Congressman Trent Franks
