Cosponsor bipartisan NIE on Iranian Proxy Forces Act

Deadline for original cosponsors is Wednesday, October 11th at NOON

Dear Colleague:

Please join us in legislation to require a National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) on Iran’s proxy forces. Iran’s malign activities, including support for proxy forces, in the Middle East not only threatens our allies and regional security, but also America’s
national security. Iranian support for Hizballah, a U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization, is particularly troubling as Hizballah has made inroads into Syria, helping President Bashar Al-Assad maintain regime control, and continues to boost its weapons
arsenal, which is estimated to surpass 150,000 rockets and missiles. Even more troubling are reports that Iran is building rocket-producing facilities in Lebanon, which would allow Hizballah an indigenous capability to produce these deadly weapons, which can
easily reach our ally Israel.

We believe a National Intelligence Estimate is greatly warranted to understand the extent of Iranian support for proxy forces, including their presence in Syria and on the border with Israel. Additionally, after completion of the NIE, this bill requires
a strategy to prevent Iran from expanding its power in Syria and Lebanon.

The United States must not allow Iran to maintain a permanent presence in Syria and must do more to address the urgent threat of Iranian support for Hizballah. We hope you’ll join us in introducing this important legislation, the NIE on Iranian Proxy Forces
Act. Please contact our staff, Jessica Schwartz with Rep. Schneider ( or Mary Doocy with Rep. Meadows (
with any questions or to cosponsor. The deadline for original cosponsors is Wednesday, October 11th at 12:00 PM.
