Co-Sponsor H.R. 3703: the “No School Bus Drivers with DUIs Act”

I invite you to co-sponsor H.R. 3703, the “No School Bus Drivers with DUIs Act” which would prohibit state and local education agencies from hiring school bus drivers who have previously been convicted of a DUI.
According to a recent CBS News investigation (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/stunning-lack-of-oversight-for-school-bus-drivers-cbs-news-investigation/):
“Twenty-one states told CBS News that no school bus drivers had been charged with a DUI in the past three years, but we found at least one such arrest in each of those states. There are no universal standards. So there is nothing that will automatically
disqualify a school bus driver who has an extensive criminal background or DUIs.”
This past December, a school bus driver in Brookfield, Wisconsin was arrested for her third drunk driving offense, this time with children aboard the bus:

bus driver in West Greenwich, Rhode Island was arrested for being three times over the legal drinking limit when she drove a bus full of high school students home from a track meet:
http://www.abc6.com/story/34185696/former-westerly-school-bus-driver-pleads-not-guilty-to-dui. She had previously been charged with a DUI in California. And in May of this year, a Campbell County, Wyoming School District bus driver was arrested for driving
under the influence while driving five elementary school students to school:
