Dear Colleague:

This notice is to inform you of two recent updates to the Members’ Congressional Handbook approved by the Committee on House Administration. The first update incorporates a recent modification made by the Franking Commission to include three new categories
among the list of examples for public distinctions recognition. The second update modifies the regulation pertaining to the House Sergeant at Arms providing certain non-capital security improvements to district offices.

These changes are included in the Members’ Congressional Handbook, which is located on our Committee’s website at:
https://cha.house.gov/handbooks/members-congressional-handbook.

You may find these revisions in the Office Expenses section of the Handbook, specifically in the following areas:

  • Certificates
  • District Office, Security: Non-Capital Improvements

We hope these updates will allow you to better serve your constituents and manage the security aspects of your District Office(s). If there is anything we may do to assist your office or if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact
the Committee’s Offices of Franking and Member Services at (202) 226-6047 (Majority) or (202) 225-9337 (Minority).

Sincerely,

Gregg Harper                                                              Robert A. Brady
