The Committee on Ways & Means invites you to a bipartisan, bicameral staff briefing by the Department of Commerce on its Section 232 investigations of the effects of steel and aluminum imports on U.S. national security.  President Trump issued Presidential
Memoranda requesting these investigations in April 2017.  The Department of Commerce has stated that it intends to expedite its reports, which will address overcapacity, dumping, illegal subsidies, and other factors as it analyzes whether steel and aluminum
imports threaten U.S. economic security and military preparedness.


The following Department of Commerce personnel are expected participants in this briefing:
