SUPPORT BIPARTISAN LEGISLATION THAT HOLDS CONGRESS ACCOUNTABLE
In the real world, if you don’t do your job, you don’t get paid. It should be no different for lawmakers who fail to do their job here in Congress.
It is our job to keep the government open. That’s why I reintroduced the “Hold Congress Accountable Act” that prevents Members from being paid in the event of a government shutdown. At the end of this week the current Continuing Resolution expires and rumors abound about a possible lapse in funding. If we are foolish enough to let the process break down as it did in the 104th and 113th Congresses, we should have our pay reduced for each day of any shutdown.
