Dear Colleague:

Unfortunately, every day criminals manipulate government processes and exploit security vulnerabilities to fraudulently obtain identification credentials in the United States – the starting point for identity theft, fraud and many other criminal activities.

Please join the Congressional Task Force to Combat Identity Theft and Fraud this week for a staff briefing “Birth Certificates, Driver’s Licenses and Social Security Cards: Combatting the Use of Counterfeit Breeder Documents to Obtain Fraudulent
IDs
” which will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wed. March 29 in SVC 215.

This briefing offers a unique opportunity to hear from leading experts on document security and identity fraud from the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Homeland Security as well as private industry – where we will learn more about the homeland
security and criminal threats we face from identity fraud and what can be done as a nation to protect against them.

Please rsvp to jacob.olson@mail.house.gov by
5 p.m. on Tues. March 28 if you wish to attend. We hope to see you there!
