Dear Colleague,

Deployment of armed Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) by Islamic State fighters abroad underscores an imminent threat to our military installations, assets and classified information at home.

As UAS become more prevalent and easily accessible,
military leaders
and
terrorism experts
have warned that the threat of their misuse must be addressed. Congress should ensure our Armed Forces have the resources necessary to defend against this threat and effectively accomplish their mission.

We invite you to join our letter to the House Committee on Armed Services Chairman Mac Thornberry and Ranking Member Adam Smith in support of clarifying language in the 2018 NDAA to authorize security personnel to interdict any UAS threatening
military personnel, facilities, and assets.

The text of the letter is below. Contact Tyler Russell (tyler.russell1@mail.house.gov) or Joshua Michaels (Joshua.michaels@mail.house.gov) with any questions,
or to sign on.

Sincerely,

Neal Dunn, M.D.                    Colleen Hanabusa
